Evergreen Christmas

£100.00

This picture was made in early December. Autumn colours were still strongly present, and some trees were bare and others were not. I wanted a sense of the trees which we bring into our homes over Christmas, and all I could see around me was vibrant green with intermittent oranges. My initial sketch was done outside in parkland, facing a building full of beautifully shaped windows. Many things came to mind - windows onto the magic of things, quilted carpets, starry nights, and homes nestled in the deep green evergreens.

‍The picture works as an uninterrupted frieze, but also can work in sections (see the greeting card version) eg a mount with partitions. ‍

Mixed media: Crayons, Inks and Collage

Image Size: 41.5×21.5 cm

Paper Size: 50.5×30.5 cm

‍ Note: the paper is puckered around top left border, but this doesn’t affect the image presentation.
